W88 establishes sponsorship agreement with Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace, a Premier League football team, has confirmed W88 as its jersey sponsor for the 2020-21 season.

W88, which is exclusive to the sports business and its franchise owners, the W88 mobi sports partners model is a private equity investment fund. Formerly sponsored Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2018-19 and Aston Villa in 2019-20.

The Villa agreement was billed as a “record-breaking” deal for the club, but it was reported in June that it had reached its “logical conclusion.” Leicester City is also a partner of the operator.

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish stated that the agreement would help the club and W88 Thailand expand their worldwide presence.

“We are thrilled to have the W88 team on board as a new primary partner and jersey sponsor for the 2020/21 season,” Parish stated. “As the club enters its eighth consecutive season in the Premier Competition, the world’s most-watched league, our worldwide support continues to expand.” We mutually desire to expand our worldwide reach and look forward to collaborating with W88 Thailand.”

W88 business development manager Hilly Ehrlich expressed excitement about working with the team and its supporters.

“We are thrilled to be collaborating with Crystal Palace, a club with a strong history in South London dating back more than a century,” Ehrlich added. “Aside from collaborating closely with the club’s administration and players, we are also delighted and looking forward to connecting with Palace supporters both in England and throughout the world to build a successful collaboration.”

W88, which has gaming  online business licenses. However, its primary target markets are in Asia, with Aston Villa mentioning the continent’s “strong presence” when it announced its sponsorship contract with the operator.

Last month, the UK House of Lords released a report outlining a broad range of suggestions to reform the gaming regulatory environment in the country, including a changing gaming sports sponsorship, which it described as “extremely advantageous” and “would not disproportionately hurt Premier League teams.”

ManBetX, another Asia-focused operator, was Crystal Palace’s previous sponsor after signing a “record-breaking” arrangement in 2017.
