Your tax information, The IRS Accounttool provides you with secure access to information about your federal tax account. Use this tool to access your tax records online, review your payment history, and view information from the current year’s tax return, as originally filed.
Get a transcript of your taxes
If you need a copy of your original tax return information, use the order Transcript. Your transcript shows most items from your tax return. If you need your adjusted gross income (AGI) in order to verify your identity to the IRS, you can find that information on your transcript.

Interactive Tax Assistant
OurInteractive Tax Assistant is an online tool that will answer your tax law questions. It covers a wide range of topics, including:
- What kind of income is taxable
- If you qualify to claim certain tax credits
- How to determine your filing status
- Who can claim as a dependent on your tax return
Earned Income Tax Credit Wizard
If you worked last year but earned a low or moderate income, you may be eligible to claim the earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). With this tax credit, you could still get a refund, even if you don’t owe any tax.

If you can’t find the answers to your tax questions on IRS.gov, we can offer help in more than 350 languages with the support of professional interpreters. For assistance in Spanish, call 800-829-1040. For assistance in other languages, call 833-553-9895, where you will be connected to an IRS service representative who can:
- Provide an interpreter over the phone or
- Make an appointment at one of our Taxpayer Assistance Centers to receive help in person. Please note that our local offices only provide assistance on specific issues.
Clinics for Low-Income Taxpayers
The Low-Income Taxpayer Clinics (LITC) are independent of both the IRS and TAS. LITCs represent individuals whose income is below a certain level and who need to resolve tax problems with the IRS.
LITCs can represent taxpayers in:
- audits,
- appeals and
- Litigation before the IRS and the courts on the collection of taxes.
If English is your second language, LITCs can provide information about taxpayer rights and responsibilities in different languages.
LITC services are offered free or for a nominal charge.
